"Bakya" or wooden clogs - once a Philippine symbol, now practically gone from the modern Philippine society. This is a lovingly "re-mastered" print by Larry Alcala in the late 70's to early 80's from his series "Slice of Life". The series was original printed on weekend magazines and newspapers. Original piece is now faded, paper yellowed and worn. The image was digitally restored, and rendered using pastel on canvas. The colors are now as vibrant as ever and done on fresh medium. Truly, a collectible piece from a bygone era.
